Panhellenic Council
Northern Kentucky University

"Sisterhood is the essence of all the wisdom of the ages, distilled into a single word. You cannot see sisterhood, neither can you hear it nor taste it. But you can feel it a hundred times a day. It is a pat on the back, a smile of encouragement. It's someone to share with, to celebrate your achievements."

Letter from the President

Picture
On behalf of my Panhellenic sisters, welcome to the Northern Kentucky University and welcome to our Greek community. My name is Kelsey Patterson and I serve as the Panhellenic Council President for the year 2013. My job is to oversee Panhellenic Council and organize many events throughout the year surrounding sorority life. As “Panhellenic” means “All Greek”, I work closely with each sorority chapter, as well as Interfraternal Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council who represent the fraternities and international Greek organizations on campus.

NKU is a remarkable university which allows students to explore opportunities and become outstanding adults in preparation for their future careers. College is a unique experience and your time here should not be taken for granted. It is a time to study hard and laugh harder, live it up and enjoy the company of friendships. One of the best ways to flourish at Northern Kentucky University is by getting involved in multiple organizations and, lucky for you, there are over 200 to choose from! Throughout my time on campus, I have been a member several groups and it has greatly enhanced my college experience. Now, I am challenging you to do the same.

Whether you are entering NKU as a freshman student or you are nearing the end of your college career, the Panhellenic community invites you to consider joining a Greek organization. For over 40 years, we have served as prime leaders, scholars, and philanthropists at the university. Sororities are the most active and diverse women’s organizations on campus and provide opportunities which have the potential to change your life.

Becoming a member of a sorority may not be for everyone. It is much more intense than it may seem as we are more than the letters we wear or the events we host; we are a family. We represent each member of the entire community both in and out of our letters. My letters challenge me each day to act as the best version of myself and encourage my sisters to do the same. I wouldn’t be the woman I am today without the support of my best friends, my sisters. It is my wish that everyone experience the joys of cherishing lifelong relationships with friends who make you a better person and joining a sorority can give you that. I encourage you to check it out; You may be surprised at what you find!

Go Greek! Go Norse!
